Hawaiian Poke Bowl established on 7.02.2011.
The owner, Roberta, is a Native Hawaiian, born and raised in Hawaii. She is from Waimanalo, Oahu. She is a graduate of the Kamehameha Schools Class of 1982. Roberta relocated to St. George in 2010. Her love and passion for Poke motivated her to open the Hawaiian Poke Bowl. Poke had been such an integral part of her life in Hawaii and there was no Poke here. Roberta not only shares her Hawaiian Culture with her Poke but also shares her Aloha Spirit with everyone who walks through the door at Hawaiian Poke Bowl.

What Is Poke?
is a raw fish salad served as an appetizer in Hawaiian cuisine. Pokē is the Hawaiian verb for "section" or "to slice or cut". Ahi poke is made with yellowfin tuna. The modern poke typically consists of cubed raw ʻahi (yellowfin tuna). The traditional Hawaiian poke consists of fish that has been gutted, skinned, and deboned. It is sliced across the backbone as fillet, then served with traditional condiments such as sea salt, candlenut, seaweed, and limu. The present form of poke became popular around the 1970s. It used skinned, deboned, and filleted raw fish served with wasabi and soy sauce. This form of poke is still common in the Hawaiian islands and happily served fresh daily right here in St. George, Utah.
